  • Type "Control Panel" and click to open it.
  • In the Control Panel, find and click on "Programs and Features" or "Uninstall a Program." Then, look in the list to see if the Visual C++ libraries are installed.

Method 3: Through the Settings App

  • In the Settings window, click on "Apps."
  • Go to the "Apps & features" page, where all installed applications are listed. Check this list to see if the Visual C++ libraries are installed.

This is because your computer is running Windows 7 or an older version. Please download the stable version or upgrade Windows.

Please check the following:

  • Is the light switch in the software turned on
  • Is there currently audio playback, and is the volume of the software playing the sound turned up
  • Whether the device source in the lighting device settings selects the audio output channel currently used by the system
  • If the default audio device is not detected:
    • Open audio device properties;
    • Enter advanced mode;
    • Disable exclusive mode and turn off signal enhancement;
    • Confirm, save, and then restart the software.

Please check the following items:

  • Is the light switch in the software turned on.
  • If you are using an Nvidia graphics card, right-click on the desktop, open the Nvidia Control Panel, go to 3D Settings, configure Surround and PhysX, select the option for the discrete graphics card from the dropdown menu on the right, apply the settings, then exit and restart the Skydimo software.
  • If using an AMD independent graphics card, please select "Standard" in the graphics card settings, then save and restart the Skydimo software.
  • If synchronization still fails, please select another mode in the scene capture mode of Skydimo settings. Mode 1 has the best performance, mode 2 is the second best, and mode 3 is the last alternative. If mode 1 co-screen mode does not work properly, change to mode 2 (users of this mode will have a yellow box for Windows system privacy protection when using it). If it is still out of sync, change to mode 3, but the CPU resources occupied will be higher.
  • If colors appear inverted on the left and right sides, adjust the installation orientation option in the lighting device settings.
  • If feel that there is a color difference in the color, you can check the advanced settings in the settings, and then in the lighting settings, adjust the color range (default is about 50%) and color saturation (default is 100%).

You can open a video website and search for RGB test to find some colorful RGB test videos. Then play these videos in full screen, switch the lights to sync mode with the screen, and start testing the sync mode between the lights and the screen.

It’s possible that the movie or media platform you're using (such as Netflix, HBO GO, etc.) employs copyright protection mechanisms to prevent screen recording. This restriction also blocks third-party software from accessing visual information in the video. As a result, when watching such protected content, the lights may fail to sync, respond, or turn on.

However, you can try the following methods:

  • Disable hardware acceleration in your browser (e.g., Google Chrome) and play the video in the browser.
  • You can also try playing the video in Mozilla Firefox.

The upper, lower, left, and right modes are typically used for single-line desk or wall contour light strips, allowing the lights to synchronize with the colors on the left, bottom, left, and right edges of the screen images, respectively.

Full-screen mode is generally used for computer backlight strips on three or four sides, so that the light can be synchronized with the color of the edge area of the screen.

Movie mode is typically used for three-sided or four-sided computer backlight strips, allowing the lights to synchronize with the colors near the central area of the screen's image. This mode helps to skip over some of the black bars on the top, bottom, left, or right edges of movies.

You need to follow the steps below to enable the corresponding system permissions for the Skydimo software:

Specifically, the Skydimo software requires screen recording permissions (required to obtain real-time screen color information in mirroring mode) and microphone permissions (required to capture audio information through the microphone in music mode).

To grant these permissions, follow the steps:

  • Open System Preferences on your MAC.
  • Navigate to Privacy & Security.
  • Click on the Privacy tab.
  • Scroll down and click on Screen Recording.
  • Check the box next to Skydimo to grant screen recording permission.
  • Similarly, click on Microphone in the same Privacy tab.
  • Check the box next to Skydimo to grant microphone permission.

Please ensure these permissions are granted to ensure the smooth functioning of the Skydimo software on your system.

** Please note:

  • Some models of MAC do not have a built-in microphone, so the music mode of the Skydimo software cannot be used.

    • Reset Application Permissions:
    • In Terminal, run: tccutil reset All com.skydimo.skydimo, then restart the application.

    Hardware Connection Check:

    • Ensure the LED strip is connected to a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard or an independently powered USB HUB, as the LED strip has higher power requirements.
    • After connection, check if the LED strip flashes red, green, and blue in sequence to confirm that the hardware is functioning correctly.

    Software Check:

    • Open the Skydimo application and check if the LED strip is detected in the software.
    • Try selecting both single-color mode and rainbow mode to see if you can control the LED strip properly.

    Windows Device Recognition:

    • Press "Windows + R" and type devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager. Check the COM and LPT port section for any CH340 devices.
    • If there are unknown devices with a question mark or exclamation mark, you may need to install or update the appropriate drivers.

    Mac Device Recognition and Permission Settings:

    • Open System Information, select USB on the left, and check the right panel for a device with Product ID 0x7523 and Vendor ID 0x1a86.
    • If the device is not recognized, try switching the USB port or checking the connection.

    In some games, the anti-cheat system may mistakenly identify our device as a cheat plug-in, causing the game to crash or exhibit unusual behavior. This problem is caused by the game's own protection mechanism, and we are currently unable to provide a complete solution. To avoid this problem, you can choose to temporarily disable our device during gameplay to ensure the game runs smoothly.
